Inspired by my own experience working on golf courses, where the early summer mornings brought bitter cold winds before giving way to the blazing heat of the mid- afternoon, the piece reflects the striking contrasts that unfold gradually yet unmistakably through time. While rooted in the phenomenon of diurnal temperature change, the work ultimately reflects more personal and universal developments, such as perceptual, environmental, or emotional shifts. An underlying economy in gestures, harmonies, and textures provide a certain familiarity despite their changes over time.
