Series Fanfare for trumpet ensemble is written in six parts, all of which are assigned a fixed valve combination and perform only within the corresponding harmonic series (for example, the first trumpet part is performed on first valve only while the fourth trumpet part is performed on first and second valve only). Within these limitations, some notes are played with alternate fingerings, melodies are passed between parts quickly, and the harmonic language of the piece becomes unique. This piece begins and ends with the strong intervals of fourths and fifths, decorated with fast multiple tonguing and bright timbres.
