Strides, for an ensemble of three trumpets and three flugelhorns, expresses the different trials and challenges I have experienced while working towards a major milestone in life. Bouncing back and forth between light and heavy, dense and thin, bright and dark, this piece expresses both external and internal struggle that one may experience, especially when the finish line is nowhere in sight.
